The Douglas County Sheriffs Office has authorized the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Sheriff Galey advises the drug turn-in program will run Monday, May 25, 2015 through Friday, June 12, 2015. Bring your medications for disposal to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office at 920 S. Washington Street, Tuscola. The service is free and anonymous.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for lateral transfer telecommunications positions. The starting salary 34,727 per year plus benefits. Must be a U.S. citizen, 21 years of age, with a least one year experience, certified 911 and emergency police dispatching, no felony convictions, high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to relocate to Douglas County within one year.
